I worked as a volunteer in the southwestern area of Colombia in the rural region of Nariño in a project call Borderlands a CRS Coffee Project. My job was to advise the conception of a business plan for an association of coffee farmers with a view not only to improve their farming practices but also to increase competitiveness and generate better income for each family. By developing some workshops and outreach to growers I was able to determine the added value of the project as a first approach to the idea of business desired by the farmers.
